ABOUT ME

Roosevelt Night is an 11-year-old filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. His filmmaking journey began during the 2020 lockdown when he persuaded his family to help him recreate his favorite film, Pee-wee's Big Adventure.

This experience ignited a passion for all aspects of filmmaking, leading him to delve into writing, directing, editing, animation, and sound design.

Since then, Roosevelt has worked on a diverse range of projects, from films supporting local Austin businesses and institutions to advertisements for Meow Wolf and a notable collaboration with Paul Reubens on a Pee-wee Herman project.

Roosevelt aspires to one day establish his own Muppet-like studio, a space where he can work as a creative innovator, developing wild and imaginative films. Currently, when not on location, he utilizes his home as his production base. He has a particular affinity for commercials and branding, expressing a unique desire for a dedicated channel showcasing advertisements. In addition to filmmaking, Roosevelt enjoys inventing, creating unusual merchandise, and crafting recipes that sound as if they originated from a game of truth or dare. He is currently the subject of an ongoing documentary by Moxie Pictures.

His creative influences are wide-ranging, encompassing filmmakers such as Wes Anderson, Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrick, and comedic figures like Weird Al Yankovic, Charlie Chaplin, and Monty Python, as well as an appreciation for Martha Stewart and vintage commercials.

Roosevelt writes, directs, and sometimes edits his films, often utilizing miniatures, animation, and stop-motion techniques. He also frequently collaborates with his younger brother, Fargo.
